Our Faculty offers four undergraduate programs:
Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry (HBScF)
Admission Requirements:
Entrance requirements for our Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry programs are as follows:
Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent.
A minimum of 6 Grade 12 U or M cources, or equivalent, including program specific prerequisite courses with a minimum 70% overall average.
- 1 credit in Gr. 12 U English
- 3 credits from:
- Gr. 12 U Advanced Functions & Intro Calculus
- Gr. 12 U Biology
- Gr. 12 U Chemistry
- Gr. 12 U Geometry & Discrete Math
- Gr. 12 U Math of Data Management

Applicants lacking no more than one of these prerequisites will be considered on an individual basis.
HBScF - Four Year program
This is our traditional degree which makes a graduate eligble (after a specific time of professional practice) for registration with the Ontario Professional Foresters Association as a Registered Professional Forester.

HBScF (Co-op) - Five Year program
This is our co-operative version of our traditional degree which makes a graduate eligble (after a specific time of professional practice) for registration with the Ontario Professional Foresters Association as a Registered Professional Forester.
The program allows students to gain additional work experience while enrolled as students.
Continuation in the Co-op option will be contingent on maintaining a weighted average of 60% in each term.
A Co-op student who obtains less than a 60% average for the course work of any term or who fails any course may be placed on probation for the following academic term.
A student who does not remove the probationary standing within the designated period will be dismissed from the Co-op option.
A Co-op student who fails the year (see appropriate academic regulations) will be dismissed from the Co-op option.
Work term credits are not applicable towards the completion of the regular HBSc Forestry degree.
Students in the Co-op option are not guaranteed work term positions.
Placements are posted in the Employment and Co-operative Education Centre; students must apply.
Employers make decisions on a competitive basis.

Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Forest Conservation) - Three Year program
We added this program in response to a growing need for resource personnel - without a wish to become Registered Professional Forester - but with a strong wish to develop a solid understanding of the art and science of forest resource management.
Students design a series of electives to build expertise in their area of interest (wildlife, policy and legislation, planning, historical and cultural perspectives are a few examples).

Note:
It is recommended that students proceeding to graduate studies or other research activities in Forestry should complete the undergraduate thesis, Forestry 4040.
